The Offer

Direct link to offer (requires login eventually to apply)

  • American Express is offering a sign up bonus to select pre-approved members for 20,000 points after $5,000 in spend within the first three months of card ownership on the American Express Blue Business Plus card.

Card Details

  • 2x Membership Rewards points on all purchases for the first $50,000 per calendar year
  • 1x Membership Rewards points on all other purchases
  • No annual fee
  • No lifetime language
  • 0% APR for first 15 months

Our Verdict

This offer has no lifetime language. Best bonus on this card has been 20,000 points in the last, but only required spend of $3,000. The main advantage to this offer is that it doesn’t have lifetime language. If you have any questions about American Express cards, read this first as it addresses the common questions.

Says page not found for me, haven’t even logged in yet. Seems like the offer might be over?

It pulled up for me yesterday so they must have just killed it.

“This offer is no longer available. If you’d still like to apply for a Business Card from American Express click here.”
I’ve been trying to get this card for ages now.

I can meet the $5000 minimum spend by purchasing $500 Visa gift cards at Meijer. Would Amex know if I am purchasing VGC from Meijer?

Whenever buying gift cards with an Amex at a grocery or superstore or such, always “disguise” it by buying something else on the same purchase. A $500 Visa gift card with a known activation fee ($503.95 or $504.95 or $505.95 or whatever) might stand out as “this was gift card purchase!”, but a $500 Visa gift card with activation fee PLUS a bag of tomatoes (or whatever) is going to turn into a total that will look no different to Amex than someone hoarding toilet paper 🙂 and/or buying groceries for a big family.

And if you do it multiple times, male the purchase totals different each time, and space them out, and it helps you are using the card in between for more “normal” shopping at the same store. In fact, if it’s a variable-load gift card, you might want to make some of them only $487 or whatever (if they allow odd numbers as loads) to help with this “disguising”.

Did this but having a hard time meeting min spend in quarantine. Spending less money than ever before. Mostly groceries. $5k is 10k points so 30k total for $5k or 6x. Not a great return for groceries which is already 3-6x. If you can wait, I’d recommend waiting for an upcoming non-bonus expense like taxes.

Don’t need to wait to pay taxes.

Pay taxes, utility bills, insurance, car registration, get some gift cards for Amazon, etc., while at the grocery store – Safeway has lots of gift cards. Get some for the grocery store, too. Stock up on staples at any online store – Vitacost.com has lots of healthy food items, as well as vitamin supplements. Get some gift cards for online clothing stores. And, etc. Since the interest is 0% for a while, you dont have to pay it all off right away.

Not targeted either, although I did just close my last BBP a few hours ago…. I’m more interested in signing up again though for the 15 months zero APR… anyone know how long I ought to wait in between closing last card and applying for it again?

Tried today. Logged in and it says, “This offer is no longer available. If you’d still like to apply for a Business Card from American Express.”
Not targeted I guess.

Is there anyway to get the no lifetime language without signing in?

Wonder if they will match. Approved two weeks ago 10k MR for 3k spend.
