Our Verdict
We just had an offer for 75,000 miles + $50 statement credit, so this isn’t nearly as exciting. From what I’ve read only people who were targeted will end up getting the miles if they have had the card before (people who used the leaked link will still get 75,000 miles if they would have been eligible normally) so this is a good chance to see if you’re targeted for this specific offer. Whenever there are offers that bypass these lifetime rules my suggestion is to just apply even if they aren’t the highest bonus (although that only applies to people who have had this card before and would normally be ineligible). As always please make sure you read through these things everybody should know about American Express cards.
Hat tip to reader elegua
I received the 75K offer, and applied for it, even though I had the gold Delta card a few years ago. I’m working on the first 2K of spend, and will advise if I receive the initial 50K bonus.
The first tranche of 50K miles hit my Delta account recently, so it does not appear that my previous signup bonus prevented me from getting another one; I believe I received the previous bonus in 2013.
I got “Please verify the information you entered is correct and try again.” Does it mean I am not eligible for this offer?
I get “PLEASE VERIFY THE INFORMATION YOU ENTERED IS CORRECT AND TRY AGAIN.” which I assume means I’m not targeted 🙁
oh, i got the same message too.
Offer was as stated above when I logged in, immediately approved with $8k credit limit.
I’ve had this card in the past, my offer did not have the lifetime language.
Update:
Bought $50 gift card from delta a week ago, statement credit DID NOT post. Wary to put the spend on this card now…
Did you purchase the e-gift card or physical gift card?
William Charles I have somewhat related question to this offer. I got a targeted email offer w/out the lifetime language (with unique code) for the Business gold w 75K for $5,000 spend. It was sent not to my primary email address but to an email address I use rarely, don’t even know how Amex might have it.
I’ve had this card before 3-4 times. My question is would they honor this bonus/was it really sent to me, or all they care is that I have the unique code? TIA
Twice I was sent targeted offers from AmEx and both times I was denied the bonuses. Even filing a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau didn’t help. The second time I called to verify that I was eligible for the bonus before using the card and they said yes. When I complained they said “Sorry”. Be VERY careful with this one.
I did not get my bonus even there is “no lifetime “restriction on the application. DO NOT apply if you have had this card before!
YMMV, but a lot of people report not getting it.
It’s personal and blue card this time.
Blue standard offer
Not personal and business.
Somebody else reported receiving business as well, strange.
When clicking the link in the email it also gives an option to apply for the platinum card. 45,000 bonus miles + 15,000 MQM after $1000 spend + $100 statement credit after a delta purchase. Annual fee not waived
