• American Express is offering 100,000 points after $6,000 in spend within the first six months of card membership on the refreshed gold card. You also get 20% back in statement credits on eligible purchases made at restaurants worldwide within six months of card membership up to $100 back. Offer ends 11/6/24

Card Details

• $325 annual fee ($75 increase)
• Option of white gold card (alongside gold or rose gold)
• Card earns at the following rates:
  • 4x on restaurants (limited to $50,000 per year, previously no limit)
  • 4x on grocery (limited to $25,000 per year)
  • 3x points on flights Booked directly with airlines or on amextravel.com
  •  2x points on On Prepaid Hotels and other eligible travel purchases, booked through AmexTravel.com
  • 1x points on all other purchases
• $7 monthly Dunkin donuts credit (new)
• $50 semi annual resy credit (new)
• $10 monthly Uber cash credit (same as before)
• $10 monthly GrubHub/5 Guys (previously not available on 5 guys, but available on mile bar and shake shack purchases)

Our Verdict

Standard offer is 60,000 points, I was getting 90,000 points to show frequently but 100,000 points was much more difficult. Things you can try:

• Open offer in incognito mode
• Try searching on google and then clicking through to the gold page
• Click through to the gold page from other American Express pages
• Different browsers/computer/phone
• VPN/Hotspot (careful applying)

100,000 + $100 offer is one of the best we have seen, other good offers were 90,000 + $250 in the past. I think if you can get the 100,000 + $100 offer to show and haven’t held the card before it’s definitely worth considering, I just wish it was easier to get the offer to appear. We will add this to our list of the best credit card bonuses with the caveat that this isn’t the public bonus. Hopefully this offer without lifetime language appears soon.
