Our Verdict

While there have been instances of better offers on the AmEx Gold card, this a solid offer for someone who can get it to show. It seems to be that select referral links will consistently show this offer while others will show a lower 60k+$50 offer instead. It’s possible that some people will be able to get this 90k+$50 offer without using a referral link, let us know if you do.

Do not post your referral in the comments below. These comments will be trashed and might affect your ability to comment in the future.

The annual fee is now $325, not $250 as mentioned above.  Chuck

I no longer have the option of referring this card. I have a referral link I generated several months ago that still works (and shows 90k in Edge private). I’m going to have my wife try applying with that link. I don’t remember how much I get for the referral. Anyone know what that would be?

It is actually 65K points offer after you pay the $250 annual fee. no $200 statement credit either so not so good offer

If you do the 75k/$250 restaurant offer you will offset the AF and still get 75K points. Not a bad offer.

ofcourse the doordash and those $10 off are gimmics, $15 food buying directly from resturant would cost $50 using those rip off food delivery services due to, over priced menu item just because it is ordered on doordash etc, service fee, tips and other rip off fees. there is no saving at all

He means the Resy offer which has $250 off restaurants, not including the uber etc credits.

I have a 100k offer and my Resy offer is only $100. Is that something that is specific to card offers? Or did the benefit change?

I feel like it is not that difficult to use the monthly dining and uber credit, so I definitely think the benefit is worth something (150-200 if not 240)

I’m seeing 90k when i just went to amex website and selected view all cards. Not using incognito, just regular browsing.

*edit* when i tried to apply i get this “Sorry, the American Express online application is currently unavailable. Please try again later.” wtf

I have tried relentlessly to get this SUB however I have been in PUJ since last August. I was able to beat the PUJ for the Bonvoy Brilliant by using a Marriott Email Offer for the elevated SUB.

I want 90k + $250 (20% back restaurants). How long will it take for this to come back?

I still prefer the 90K + $200 statement credit last summer but yours isn’t far behind. Both these needed 4k spend and that seems to have permanently increased to 6k as well. I would wait till they refresh the card before applying personally since they will probably do 100-125k with the 6K spend to incentivize new applications.

Out of curiosity, have they done this before for an increase SUB for refreshed card? When is the card expected to be refreshed? If so, I may wait like you said myself too. Thanks!

They haven’t heard anything just speculating but with an increase in spend there is usually a increase in SUB points.

Just happened to business platinum with 300k points for 20k spend from 250k for 15k spend. Personal platinum just also had a jump when spend went from 6k to 8k. Just assuming the same will happen.

What if you just got the card last week at the 60,000 level. Is there a number to call to see if they will honor the increase?

It isn’t a public offer, so you would need to actually be targeted for this to have a chance at getting them to match

Should I do AMEX Green, then GOLD and finally Platinum? I understand only in this order I can get all 3 credit cards but I really don’t see Green any attractive.

That is the order you need to do on the personal card side to get all SUBs. The green sub sucks so much for return on spend that you may as well skip it tbh. You can always downgrade another gold or plat later to a green if you really need it.

Green was good last summer when they offered 60K plus 20% off travel up to $200.
