Our Verdict
Most people already have a card that earns at 2% or better, so this isn’t a huge deal. They offered a similar deal up to February as well.

My Chase Amazon Visa has been paying 2% for a while now. I didn’t know why. Any non 2% categories would show the usual 1% and another 1% bonus.
I got a few months of this 2% on all purchases as part of a targeted promo to open checking and savings accounts for that recurring bonus.
I guess 2% is ok if you don’t have another card that earns 2%
I think that the 5% back on insurance and utilitiy payments promo that Chase ran earlier this year was one of the better offers on this card in recent memory.
Annoying that only targeted near very end of that promo, so could only use half the $2K of spend cap. $50 off bills is still $50. Still easier to use than 5X with VGC/MCGC on CiC (More hoops and hassle for 5%).
I just pc’d my extra double cash to costco card, but they’re making me wait a month. Will be good to have a 2% visa in the meantime.
