Our Verdict

This offer was sent out via email on the INK cards and various other cards. If you are eligible, I assume it would show at the Chase MyBonus catch-all page as well. If my memory serves right, in the past these offers are sent out in batches, and it’s possible more people will still be targeted.

This can be a nice way to spruce up earnings for heavy spenders. You can even do something like pay taxes with the card and knock out the spend with three $5,000 transactions. (I’m not sure if a single $15k transaction would work.) On the INK Unlimited card it’s like earning 2.5x points per dollar. On the INK Cash card it’s like earning 2x per dollar.

Will I still get these offers if I am applying for the card now? Double dip on SUB and these offers??

Thanks for the offer, but if I’m spending $5k on anything, I’m signing up for a new account bonus with that spend. Maybe this is more geared towards people that can’t get approved for new cards?

It’s probably geared towards “normal” business owners and not us degenerate churners/point chasers. If you’re going to spend it anyway might as well get the extra point per dollar.

Got the “5k bonus points for every $5k spend, can do 3 times” offer on 2 of 3 Inks. Unfortunately didn’t get it on my second Ink Cash which has the 0% APR, that would have been useful. If used on office supply category, this is basically an extra point on top of the Ink Cash 5x, so 6x at office supply stores. Pretty good, but I don’t think I can easily liquidate $5k of Visa GCs, 25 cards is a lot for me. Non category spend is 2 points per $1 with the offer.

Ink Unlimited is typically 1.5 points per dollar, this bonus raises it up to 2.5 points per dollar, no categories needed. This looks pretty good as well, might be worth doing a bank account/CD opening, so $5k gets 12,500 points. Then again, $5k of spend usually gets a lot more with a SUB on a new card. Some interesting options here.

Yeah liquidating Visas is tough for me too these days. I can do it but have to do one at a time which is a PITA!

I also don’t like to float that much on the Visa/MC gift cards, as I can’t liquidate quickly and interest rates present a real opportunity cost. There is also a risk of the GC getting drained if you don’t use them soon after activation. Never happened with Visa GC (thankfully) but did run into it with the old US bank MC, which took forever to get funds back.

Got the 5K/$5K offer on Southwest Performance Business. Going to pass on using that but I appreciate Chase throwing me a bone to consider it.
