[YMMV] Chase Ink Preferred 100,000 Points Offer With $15,000 Spend

The Offer

Chase sent out a memo to bankers about an offer on the INK Preferred card:

  • “Chase INK Business Preferred will now offer select clients up to 100,000 bonus points when the client spends $15,000 in the first three months after account opening.”

Card Details

  • $95 annual fee, (probably not waived the first year with this offer)
  • Chase 5/24 rule applies to this card
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • Points Are Worth 25% More In Travel Rewards (won’t matter if you have CSR which gets 50%)
  • Primary rental car insurance

Our Verdict

The memo does not specify who will get the 100,000 offer and who won’t. It might be targeted for Private Clients and the like, unclear. It’s likely only available in-branch where the banker can check if you are eligible. Let us know if you were targeted.

This offer is better than the standard bonus of 80,000 points, but this does require an extra $10,000 in spend so some people will prefer the lower offer.

Update: Readers in the comments report getting mailers with such an offer, so it might be a mail-only offer; the memo is not clear where the offer will be promoted.

I got this offer as a referral from spouse’s account. I thought it was the regular 80k point offer but it shows 100k on the paperwork. I’m not a private client with Chase. Annual fee was not waived and was charged instantly when the account opened.

Recently applied for this card, about a month ago. It was in person via a banker, like this offer, and bypassed 5/24, so I jumped at it, even though it was the regular 80k offer. Any chance I can get matched to this offer? Typically Chase matches within 90 days of approval but this is targeted so not sure.

Two of my business’s have gotten this targeted mailer.

But like other’s have said better getting a P2 referral for the extra 20k not sure that the extra 20k is worth the extra $10k spend over the $5K/80K.

Pointless since you can get 100k considering the referral. Tax implications still make that better than the extra 10k spend.

Got a mailer with this offer. Am considering it. It’s addressed to another household member but wondering if I can use it.

Yes you can. If it doesn’t say you can’t transfer it then you can use it. That’s the line an attorney is using anyway to make his case about another card.

In other news Harvey Weinstein will use “she never said no, means she meant yes” defense.

Why take this offer for 15K spend? Refer a /family member, get 20K Referral, they get 80K for spend of 5K…….. All in the family 😂

Two reasons:
1) The referral bonus is taxable, the signup bonus isn’t; and
2) This offer from a banker probably bypasses 5/24, whereas a regular referral never will.

Probably a typo.
This is a tip from banker and I’m guessing there’s not a date associated with it.
