Our Verdict
The nice thing about these Citi Sears offers is that they stack, some cardholders already have offers for 20x/20% back making this offer even better. I’ve said it before but there is a reason why this is rated the top store credit card.
Hat tip to readers Zeid N, Sam C & Sammy L
I got a 7500 TYP spend offer for spending $1000 between 12/15 and 2/15 this morning.
My 12,500 from the last one just posted too.
General category bonus spend for grocery & online have not posted in a few months though
What’s the best way to cash out the TYP (non-travel options)? I couldn’t find a good guide to cashing these out. Thanks
There may be better ways, but one popular way to get a 1:1 cash out ratio is to request a “student loan” or “mortgage” payment check from Citi. You have to call up and ask for a check and they will ask which bank your “loan” is at and you can name any bank you want. The check will be made out to the bank instead of your name. I said Chase Bank and they mailed the check to me and I was able to use mobile deposit on it.

I’m assuming you bank at Chase for your hub bank?
I got spend $2,000 and get a bonus 12,500 TYP. Stacking that with my last promo gets me a total of 34,500 TYP on that $2,000.
Has anyone had any success calling Citi Sears and asking for a higher or lower than targeted offer? The assumption is that the cardholder has already been targeted for said offer.
Wonder if you got the 25x on utilities will you still get this…
I did, so the answer is yes.
Received this offer on sears thank you:
12,500 Bonus ThankYou Points on eligible purchases!
Activate this offer and make eligible purchases totaling $2,000 or more with your Sears Mastercard® from 10/20/2020 (or the date you activate, whichever is later) through 12/18/2020
I received 12.5k thank you points after spending $2k offer.
I received this offer just over 24 hours as well
i recieved the same. i wonder if their accounting system treats TYP issued by Sears cards as worth less, assuming the typical holder of a sears card isn’t maxing their TYP value. suggests they they think 12,500 TYP is worth the same as $90
Not seeing this new email offer. Wonder if this has anything to do with receiving the 7,500 Bonus ThankYou® Points on eligible purchases totaling $750 or more with your Sears Mastercard® made from 8/18/2020 through 10/16/2020.
I got $75 back on $750 from 9/15 to 11/13 on my Sears SYW card so I’m guessing I’m also probably not going to get this one. The only thing I got was a reminder email for that offer the other day.
I would love to get a Citi Thank You/Sears Card, but it never seems available. Some have written that you can product change from a Sears Your Way card to the Sears Thank You card, but are there any real data points on this being possible? These deals are out of sight.
jcfiastro Looks like product change is no longer allowed. Which would mean the Thank You Points version no longer exists. I tried and was denied.
I was wondering about this – was considering applying for this card, but couldn’t find an application that made it clear that the card earned ThankYou Points. I guess they only earn Shop Your Way points now.
While the TYP version is obviously one of the best MS cards out there for TYP, the regular Shop your way card gets these offers too except as statement credits. I’d say $90 back on 2k spend is a pretty solid deal, even if MS cost are 1.5% you still come out $60 ahead.
They killed the ability to switch to the TYP version a little while back. Kind of pissed bc i was still under 5/24 and trying to max out chase, then this was next on my list. Found out I missed it by a few months. Still picked up the SYW card for the statement credit offers but would have loved to vacuum up some cheap TYPs
