Offer was visible only after signing in to Credit Karma, as attempted first without signing in. Nothing appeared. After signing in, the offer appeared. The offer itself was one line of small, bold face font, so would be very easy to miss or overlook.

I’ve been with them since 2001 over 20 years. Logged in & have an existing CK Spend account, depo a $1 per month for “chance” to win $1000. Scoured the site & says Nothing about a $100 bonus.

Is anyone having any luck getting the offer to show via the regular website, not the app? Nothing on my (free and open for years) account, which is a shame because I’m in the market for a new card. They listed my chances at a U.S. Bank Altitude Connect as “excellent,” and the bonus was the same 500.- as it is elsewhere, but I’m not going to bother applying for it through CK without something sweetening the pot. Any ideas to get targeted?

Be careful if you plan on using that card. I heard it is more like a loan where interest gets accrued once you use it and it does not have a grace period like normal credit cards.

I have that promotion on my Credit Karama App. Been a user for around three years now. Not useful for me at the moment since I am currently gardening and letting my current new accounts age first before I go and venture out for new cards.

My $0.02 below:

The only reason why I would even think applying for a card through Credit Karma is if the card I am applying to has the same sign up bonus, and the refer a friend bonus is lower than $100.

Like Citi does not have refer a friend offers, but its cards are offered on the Credit Karma page. So it would be nice to get $100 to apply and be approved for the Double Cash back.

The only issue I have with the $100 bonus is that it will be considered an interest payment, and thus unearned income. So that $100 will be taxed at your current income tax bracket. Which brings down the value of that $100.

And is that $100 really worth dealing with another 1099-INT and to manage another savings account? Not in my opinion.

I can attest that this is a valid offer. I did apply for a new credit card (was planning to anyway) after logging into Credit Karma. I did apply for the Save account (and was accepted) before applying for the new card. I didn’t receive any notice so I reached out to CK directly. Here was there response:

Thanks for contacting Credit Karma. I hope you’re having a great day so far.

I understand you need more information regarding the $100 bonus for signing up for a new credit card. I’m more than glad to assist you with this information.

We are offering a bonus deposit Credit Karma Money Spend accounts of qualified members who apply and are approved for a new credit card through Credit Karma. You must have an open Credit Karma Money Spend account within 30 days after our notice to the member after being approved for the new card in order to receive the bonus, this can be your pre-existing Spend account or you can open a new one online.

Let us know if you do not receive a bonus deposit you are expecting after the end of the offer period and we can look into it for you.
