- Maintain a combined balance of $1,500 in checking, savings or money market accounts

You also need to opt for paperless statements otherwise a $3 fee applies. There is an early account termination fee of $25 if closed within 180 days.
Referral Bonus
For future reference, the referral bonus does stack.
Our Verdict
This is a good bonus, requirements aren’t that difficult to meet and $200 is one of the larger bonuses. In addition the best bonus Old National Bank has offered in the past was only $100 and required in branch opening. Definitely worth doing if you’re not that far from a participating branch. Will be adding it to the best checking promotions list.

Got that here: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/in-ky-mn-mi-old-national-bank-300-450-checking-bonus/
This bank is offering $300 and $450 bonus with Direct Deposit.

I saw this ad too. Sort of tempted with only a direct deposit required. They’re also offering a 12 month MM at 4.25% (https://go.oldnational.com/mma-2023/?utm) to keep some funds in a local bank.
They are still very Chex sensitive, even in-branch (my Chex is at LOL levels). The banker entered my info in the system and then immediately excused themselves to talk to their manager. They came back and asked if I had ever heard of Chex Systems. I feigned ignorance and they said the Chex system required additional review to verify my information and that they would call me back in 1-2 business days. I expect no such callback, but would be pleasantly surprised if they did.
mothman69 Did you hear back from them?
Carl J No I have not. I’m pretty sure the banker was just trying to be nice about my Chex rejection.
Thanks for letting me know, will probably pass on this given my chex!
They must be highly sensitive to CHEX – I live in the are they are mostly present in (they own a concert venue here, etc…) and opened on August 10th, closed August 12th. Crazy. I will update when I get some information.
Where did you find the link to open online? For me the offer is in branch only.
does anyone have a referral link that is working for this? I want to apply and I am in Indiana. Thanks
7/19 Opened account online and recieved email application being processed.
7/20 Email account has been opened.
7/21 Tried to use online banking for first time and unable to log in. Error message stating account has been placed on hold. Called to find out the account cancelled and would not be charged.
7/22 Called again when noticed they charged my credit credit card $500 for initial deposit. Told need to go into branch to open account.
7/23 Went into branch. Told account is closed and they will send me a check for the funds.
Never gave me a reason why. Only thing I can think of is chex sensitive.
Not a good experience. Don’t recommend using them.
Scott C Did you re apply in the branch for a better outcome? Same thing happened to me. I just didn’t decide to go to their branch. At least we got the spend.
I also got the debit card and tried to activate it but that failed.
William Charles also valid in Wisconsin. I received a mailer.
7/21/21 – Signed up online using Chrome within State listed. Instant Approval
$500 Opening Funding thru Alliant, $500 shows pending, no sign of CA decrease.
I selected both checking and savings to try and get 1K funding but the max per application is $500
I went ahead and opened the savings because I didn’t see a back button so funded $450 checking and $50 savings. If I could go back, I would only of selected Checking.
I have seen ReferLive stack with these banks, like First Merchants for P1 and P2. But what you do is click the Referral Link. Register once the page loads.
Then Copy down the Link it gives you once you are registered so you can refer others. Go back to the Offer Page and sign up. If you meet the requirements for the Bonus you also meet the referral $50 requirements, but its 10 Debit transactions and a Deposit of $500. Obviously you will meet these if you do the Bonus requirements.
Typically a month later you will get the GC’s in the mail. If you never used Refer Live you can track your referrals once you login to their app or website. Existing refer live sometimes you cannot track because its associated with a different offer but I have still successfully received GCs even though it shows the first Bank you used with them. The key part is registering your information before you sign up for Both Parties.
Here is my Link if you wish to try and get an extra $50 https://bit.ly/3xVQ2V3 or https://www.oldnational.com/referlive-earn-reward/?rl_rN=D32444691BD6&rl_cnl=4&rl_t=1540233TDR5SESS&rl_bz=126
Well they closed the account like other DPs below. I could open in the branch
Opened the account online and they closed it next day. Said I could go in and open in person. I’m guessing since it was opened I will encounter issues with the bonus posting automatically and all my genuine payroll is tied up in maxing out retirement so will lose out here. Said too many chex inquiries so they wanted to make sure it wasn’t fraud.
George I’m in the exact same boat. If I do go in branch to open again, I will ask for written confirmation that the previous online opening & closure does not disqualify me from getting the bonus
Offer only available at certain Old National banking centers? I did not find such requirement in the link…….
Offer is not available for Old National associates or clients with an existing Old National personal checking account, or personal checking accounts closed on or after July 1, 2020
