Avoiding Fees
Worry free checking account has no monthly fee to worry about. I wasn’t able to find a fee schedule so I’m unsure on any early account termination fees.
Our Verdict
Fine print says you need to have received a mailer to be eligible but this sort of thing isn’t always enforced so YMMV. If anybody goes for it then please share your datapoints in the comments below. Obviously a great deal if it’s a soft pull and anybody can open in branch. For now it won’t be added to our best checking bonuses, at least until we know more.

Looks like the offer link is still working. Does anyone have any latest DP on Credit card funding for this account?
The expiration is now 12/31/18. What is the verdict on this being targeted and hard/soft pull?
As of clicking APPLY NOW, today, it takes you to the Andera opening page, stating can be funded from an outside checking or savings. There is no mention of credit cards being accepted. I called and they said it cannot be opened with a CC.
you must reside in one of the six New England states (MA, RI, CT, NH, ME, VT) to open your account with us online.
You will need to refer to several pieces of information during this process:
U.S. Social Security number
A valid form of identification including: Driver’s license, State ID, Military ID or Passport
Previous home address (if you have lived at your current home address less than two years)
U.S. checking or savings account to fund your new account
Thank you very much for the info.

The link now indicates a 6/30/18 expiration date… post seems to be lacking any DPs as to whether bonus posts for not targeted individuals… but I’m more interested in DPs of whether the Amex funding has coded as purchase and qualified for MSR. Cole did you have any luck with this after completing your funding?
It did indeed code as a purchase (Business Services – Other Services) with Amex, which makes it a good option for hitting high MSR for lower spenders – hit mine for a Platinum upgrade with this.
This was reopened – now says until 4/21. Just funded $2500 via Amex Platinum and it seems like it went through fine.
Do you use it as a spending for welcome bonus? Does it count?
I did not originally receive the $200 bank bonus on 1/15/2018. I sent a message using the messages section and clicked “new conversation” saying I did not get the bank bonus by that date and received the $200 bonus 2 days after my message.
It seems that you are the only dp who received the $200 bonus. Could you please share a bit more information, did you receive the target mailer? Is it a hard or soft pull? Thanks in advance.
Seems Chex sensitive, I have like 20 banks opened in the last 6 months and was auto-rejected. Other then that the report was clean.
Thanks, added here: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/banks-credit-unions-chexsystems-inquiry-sensitive/
Got mail from Burlington branch about the same bonus with expire date Oct 31st. Burlington branch just relocated so I don’t know if other branches has same extension or it is the only this one who extend this offer.
Funded with CIP $2500 as purchase
Funded with BarclayCard Arrival Plus $2500 as purchase
Rockland Trust is not the friendliest of banks. Even from the beginning, all communications with the bank over email was very cold and unfriendly. I completed the application, put down $2500 as my deposit and was asked to provide two photo IDs. I provided the IDs and was declined due to the ChexSystem. The denial email did not indicate any reason behind it. I’ve run my ChexSystem report last month and it was clean. I recently opened checking accounts with other banks in June and August. Aside from the bonus, I wouldn’t recommend them.
