[YMMV] Uber/UberEats: Uber One, One Year For $47.52/Three Months Free

Update 11/18/23: Looks like you can also get three months free.

The Offer

No direct link to offer, shows under promotions

  • Uber/UberEats is offering one year of Uber One for $47.52 to some users

Our Verdict

This works out to be a 50% discount. I’ve given up on Uber/UberEats unless there is a heavy discount so definitely not going to pay for UberOne.

uberone just took away the $5 credit when your order is late

Certain Capital One credit cards (like SavorOne) still get Uber One for free, up to 6-12 months.

In Mexico UBER ONE is $45.00USD per year and covers grocery shopping which is totally worth it. I don’t catch Ubers much but use it for fast food and grocery food mainly. I received a $25.00USD offer off my next grocery offer that I already used. Getting the discounts eliminate the annual fee as they provide many, at least in Mexico. Also Uber last week permanently combined Cornershop with UberEATS and it’s no longer a standalone app.

They programmed the Mexico Uber account not to work in the USA. So the only time I use it there is to get $15 off an order with the platinum benefits. Otherwise the food is so expensive it’s ridiculous. I don’t see how people can afford door dash and Uber eats weekly.

Agreed with it not being worth it – I’m canceling Uber One even with a 60% off offer, just so many issues with orders (items missing, items wrong etc…) that Uber does not make whole (they refund the item, but nothing else – fees, etc…), and slow “premium support” that takes days to reply. Seems like they took a hard stance on that recently, unsure how that will be sustainable for them long term – the whole point is the whole order.

Additionally I did a “reserve in advance” Uber ride and no one ever showed up – so yes, Uber is falling off a cliff in my area. And I’ve used Uber since it started, over a decade ago, with hundreds of rides over that time period.

I also am not renewing because of those reasons. I’ve had drivers ruin my order and have footage of it and they will not do anything. Further, there’s the whole issue with them giving promo codes and then deciding to not apply them once you try and place the order and remove them from the account entirely when attempting to. They send me offers regularly and never work. I pretty much have stopped ordering from them completely.

I’m only seeing 4 weeks free, then 60% off the monthly fee when paid annually—so $4/month at $48/year. Kind of tricky math as “60% off annual” would be $40/year.

I was seeing 4 weeks free the other day but today when I logged in I saw 3 months free. Try looking again.

William Charles Offer ends Nov. 25, according to the one I see in my app (3 months free, then 60 percent off annual subscription).

Two offers in my app. 1) 3 months try free first + 60% off on annual plan 2) 3 months try free + regular monthly plan —> I went with monthly offer.

I was in the uber Eats app and put an item in my cart for pickup. When I was on the checkout screen, there was a prompt down at the bottom that said “try uber eats for 90 days, then get x% off” or something similar. The terms are pretty straightforward, put a card on file and it will get auto charged in 90 days for $48, which if I dont cancel, means I get 1 year of uber one for that $48, and then the following February the price goes up to whatever their usual rate is. For now, I will gladly take 90 days of discounts for free.

(YMMV) If you currently have UberOne you can go through the steps of cancelling your membership and it could offer you 40% off when your membership renews. Mine will be $60 when I renew on May 1, 2024.

Did you claim that offer? If so, what happened after you pressed “Claim offer”? And afterwards, on the “Manage membership” page, does it show the discounted price in the “Renews on …” line?

When I started the cancellation, it offered me 90% off the next month (I have a monthly subscription), but when I pressed “Claim offer” it gave an error “Hmm, something went wrong”, and the “Manage membership” page still shows the full $9.99 price.

I chatted with them 8 days ago and showed a screenshot; they said they’d send it to the backend team or something; haven’t heard anything since then. Maybe I’ll let it charge me full price and then complain for a refund.

Oh -I was recently on a 4 week trial and during cancellation, they offered me 90% off – I still cancelled because I was thinking that the 50% off restaurant offers will stop once I renew my trial. In general, I hate delivery orders – I have to bear the guilt of paying low tips to keep it profitable ( I usually just order from restaurants 0.1- 0.3 mile from my place to offset the guilt of low tips)- I just hate delivery services for the tips guilt. Same thing with restaurants with waiting staff – I’d be happy to pickup my food from the counter myself if given a choice. When I eat at restaurant, I am there to enjoy food – not worry about some poor waiter’s unfair wages and do the justice. I would rather prefer if the restaurants raise their prices by 20% flat. With the current tipping culture, I will always feel bad for not tipping enough or tipping too much – so much judgement involved. Tipping never feels good anyway because waiters always think that they are entitled to tips no matter how bad the service was!

0.1 to 0.3 miles is under 10 minutes on foot. if you can’t do that, the delivery person should be tipping you out of pity

I even wait outside my building for them so that they don’t need to even get out of their car! They just stare at me with a strange look while handing over my food .. lol

95% of the promos have a “delivery orders only” clause attached. I would gladly do pickup orders within a 1 mile radius of my residence if that clause was removed – I can do the roundtrip on foot in about 30 minute anyway, which is faster than delivery orders most of the times

There is a Coke promo 8 off 20 with a can of coke product. Works on pickup, sent via email. Other than that Uber has stopped giving me any promos altogether last moths or so.

Same here, although fyi once in awhile I’ve noticed there will be one of those 50% off promotions in the account that wouldn’t have been advertised via email.
